We are starting to make real headway in the demand to stop construction of the dams to block the great Mekong River's mainstream - the Xayaburi and Don Sahong projects - but the battle to save the Mekong is not yet won.

By stopping construction of all mainstream dams on the Mekong, our goal is to protect the food security of the people of Cambodia and Vietnam and the livehoods of more tha 60 milion Cambodians, Laos, Thais and Vietnamese who rely on the Mekong's rich inland fisheries - the world's largest.

Opposition to the dams grows by the day, as goverments and the people of the region make their voices heard, and the Goverment of Laos has started to make concessions. However, construction of both dams continues unabated, and key questions on design flaws and sustainability go unanswered.

We must win. Join hand in hand in our demand to save the Mekong River, and the source of life. Sign the petition - bit.ly/savemekong
