Project Title: Creating a Sustainable energy learning Centre for promoting Community Action on climate change mitigation in Vietnam
Objectives of the project
To create a visualized sustainable energy center for promoting community action on climate change mitigation. This facility will facilitate the learning process of EA’s non-state Vietnamese members and ultimately leads to strengthen their partnership, reduction in energy use and GHG emission, mitigation of climate change, and improve local economy and the environment
Activities and expected outcomes
- Sustainable Energy Demonstration Station will be established, which may consist of solar PV systems for domestic, solar water heater, solar dryer for agricultural produce, wind energy solutions with low speed turbine, efficient cook stoves, efficient appliances, waste management etc.
- Sustainable Energy Learning Space will be created, which may consists of learning modules on climate change, environment conservation, waste management, biogas models, biofuels, electricity bill calculation, electricity saving, efficient use technologies and practices, etc. This station will also serve as an alive library for interested people on these topics.
- Training program for EA members and interested people in Hanoi (such as students, women) will be created to equip them with knowledge, skills and practices related to sustainable energy solutions at household level.
- One competition on good practices and models related to renewable energy use and energy efficiency will be organized for youth and women to document and promote such kind of best practices in entirely Vietnam and use for further communication and outreach activities.
