On August 27, 2019, the conference "Hanoi Air Quality: Situation and Solutions" took place in Hanoi, co-organised by the Green Innovation and Development Centre (GreenID), Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA) and National University of Civil Engineering. With the participation of nearly representatives from the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, Government departments/agencies, experts on air quality, representatives from socio-political organisations, development partners, research institutes and the Clean Air-Green City network, press units, the conference open opportunities and create a forum for discussing solutions to improve the air quality in the city.

On August 21, 2019, and August 23, 2019, the launching ceremony for the “Vietnam Coalition for Climate Action” took place in Hue and Ho Chi Minh city; with more than 150 representatives from businesses, non-governmental & non-profit organisations, financial institutes, consumers, university representatives, research & technical support agencies, representatives of pioneering associations promoting green development in Vietnam. The event was to launch the coalition officially and call for the participation of stakeholders to contribute to the adaptation and response to climate change in Vietnam.

During 5 days 4 nights, fron 19th to 23rd, June, the Green Citizen Camps welcomed 49 young campers, who are secondary school students from different Northern cities and provinces, on a journey of learning about environmental issues and sustainable energy. The Green Citizen Camp is part of the E-Enhance project, funded by the European Union. The purpose of the camp is not only to create an environment where the students can freely learn and explore the Energy topic but also to let them learn and develop the Global Citizen skills in the most natural ways. To conclude, the conference emphasized the importance of a transition toward renewable energy to job creation in Vietnam’s power sector in the future as well as the need for further multidisciplinary efforts from a wide range of stakeholders.
