1. Introduction
International transaction name: Centre for sustainable development of water resources and adaptation to climate change (CEWAREC)
-Under Vietnam National Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (VNCID) – Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technological Associations (VUSTA)
- CEWAREC is founded on 15/12/2008 by Decision 02/12/2008/QĐ-HTTVN of VNCID, by Certificate for registration of scientific and technological activities by Hanoi Science and Technology Department dated 21/04/2009.
2. Main function and task Function:
CEWAREC is a consultant centre, research, scientific and technological service and international collaboration on planning, management, sustainable development of water resources and related resources, protection for environment and adaptation to climate change Task:
- Research on scientific and technological development into water resources, environment and adaptation to climate change
- Consult on investigating projects, evaluate Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA), EIA
-Provide training services, broaden knowledge about water resources, environment and adaptation to climate change. Main activities:
- Implement researchs related to sustainable development, intergrated water resources management, strategic environment impact, climate change and adaptation to climate change
- Participate in evaluation and opponency on projects related to water resources planning
- Conduct survey for economical and social conditions related to sustainable development, intergrated water resources management, investment projects and adaptationn to climate change
- Consult on sustainable development, integrated river basin management
-Provide services of enhancing ability, awareness in community about sustainable development, intergareted water resources management and related resources, environment, and adaptation to climate change
-International collaboration on above areas of science and technology.
