Dear Madam, Sir,

This training will focus on applying and evaluating methods, tools and instruments to mobilise co-benefits of ambitious NDCs and climate change mitigation for Vietnam.
The Renewables Academy (RENAC) is offering this training together with GreenID and adelphi within the scholarship programme COBENEFITS.

The face-to-face training will take place in Ha Noi, at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, from Tuesday 01 October until Wednesday 02 October 2019, 9:00 - 17:00.

The training will cover the following topics and sessions:

  • Direct, indirect and induced as well as gross and net effects
  • Methodologies for assessing / evaluating co-benefits
  • Case studies for Multi-Criteria Analysis and Cost-Benefit Analysis
  • Overview of key co-benefits of renewable energy sources
  • Indicators and interplay of key co-benefits of renewable energy (RE)
  • Case Studies for identifying, assessing, and communicating RE co-benefits


Target groups are professionals from Vietnam in the public and private sector, working in the field of (renewable) energy, climate policy and energy planning:

  • Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT)
  • Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE)
  • Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA)
  • Members of Parliament, legislative bodies
  • Staff in charge of rural development, social affairs, finance, labour, education
  • Central propaganda and training commission
  • National Assembly
  • VUSTA
  • State Energy Agencies
  • Research institutions, think tanks, and NGOs
  • Multipliers, and media representatives

What does the COBENEFITS TRAINING programme include?
The COBENEFITS training programme covers all costs (training fees, course materials and catering) for participants during the training. After attending the training, participants will receive a dedicated COBENEFITS certificate. Only travel and accommodation costs have to be covered by the training participant.

Selection process
RENAC will evaluate the received applications and choose the participants for the training seminar. RENAC will inform applicants about the results of the selection process in due time before the start of the seminar and will then provide the final training agenda.
